“Hunger Bowl”

Athens, GA- One group is trying to crack down on hunger in Georgia this Thanksgiving… It’s called “The Hunger Bowl”. They are sponsored by The Northeast GA Food Bank. They’ve been on a roll… receiving donations of nonperishable goods. Reporter Taylor Saxton sat down with the donations food manager who says she’s thankful for all the donations.

She also told her how tough this time is for struggling families across GA. She says the donations will allow the bank to give through the holiday season, and into next year. The bank partnered with nearly 85 local businesses and organizations to help them reach their goal of receiving 200,000 pounds of food. They’ll know if they’ve reached that goal by this Friday.
