Peanut Butter & Jelly Day at the State Capitol

ATHENS, Ga-  Georgia Legislators and any guests visiting the capitol today, got to help themselves to a free peanut butter and jelly sandwich, as well as boiled, smoked, salted, and shelled goobers. The event is hotsted by The Georgia Peanut Commission and being celebrated because March is National Peanut Month.

The University of Georgia Agriculture and Economic Program had an information booth set up, and the Public Service Associate. Amanda Smith spoke on why the Georgia crop is not just any another nut.

The Georgia Agriculture and Economic team hopes to teach farmers how to market their peanuts, and sell them for the right price.
