Athens, GA — Over 700 students from local schools are at the UGA Instructional Arena to throwback to the wild, wild west. Students everywhere from Jefferson Elementary to Winder-Barrow High School have been invited to the Great Southland Stampede Rodeo for a special event of cattle roping and bucking contests.

This rodeo has been organized and managed by students from the University of Georgia Block and Bridle Club. The rodeo has run for 41 years and is ranked #2 in the nation for indoor rodeos by the International Professional Rodeo Association.

The Great Southland Stampede Rodeo is in Athens again and tonight is a night for the whole family. Family Night proceeds from the rodeo events tonight will go to FFA and 4-H.
