2. Grady Newsource Executive Producer Dodie Cantrell-Bickley was at last night’s Miss America pageant and saw her niece and Miss Georgia, Betty Cantrell, win. Reporter Lana Harris has more with Cantrell-Bickley’s experience last night.

3. The Barrow County Sheriff’s Department proposed to get a fleet of new cars, with a decision coming on Oct. 1st. Grady Newsource reporter Kalyn Wilson spoke to Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith about what the new cars would mean.

4. Three Georgia Men’s Tennis players are playing in the Southern Intercollegiate Championship today. The doubles pairing of Austin Smith and Ben Wagland are representing Georgia on the doubles side of the tournament. Georgia’s Wayne Montgomery will play for the single’s championship against Kevin Konfederak at 1:30 p.m. Grady Newsource reporter Katya Riedlinger is following the matches today.

5. Capt. Steve Jones of Oglethorpe County Sheriff’s Department has been in law enforcement for 23 years, but what people may not know is that he is also an active fisherman. Grady Newsource reporter Zack Sims has more on this fish out of water.
