Barrow Sheriff’s New Fleet

By Savannah Brock

The Barrow County Sheriff’s office currently has about 120 police cars within their department, but a lot of those are well over the “safe” mileage for pursuit – 250,000 miles. This is why the department is looking to update their current fleet with 20 additional vehicles that will replace the already worn-out cars. Grady Newsource reporter Savannah Brock got an inside look at one of the department’s 2013 Dodge Chargers and why an updated vehicle is so important.

Dodge Chargers were not available when Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith started on the force. See what he had to say about his first car.
