Grady Newsource Explains: Athens Health Inspections

By: Danielle Herman

Athens residents may be a little wary to visit a popular downtown restaurant this gameday weekend after seeing how it fared on a recent health inspection.

The Grill, located on College Avenue, was evaluated by the Clarke County Health Department on August 11, receiving a score of 71. After a follow-up inspection on September 10, the restaurant scored lower with a 70.

While The Grill was the only restaurant to have a lower score on its follow up inspection, the health inspection report ranks over 500 more Athens establishments with scores ranging from 68-100.

Grady Newsource called The Grill multiple times to request an explanation, but no answer was given.
