Compared to other states, Georgia ranks in the top five for some of the most common STDs, such as syphilis, chlamydia, and gonorrhea.

All sexually active individuals are at risk, however the CDC says young adults, ages 15 to 24 make-up half of all new STD infections.

Vonterrias Foster, a Peachtree Immediate Care Technician suggests getting tested regularly for STDs and taking preventative measures by using contraceptives.

There are many local testing centers for students and residents around Athens, GA, such as Peachtree Immediate Care, Bulldog Urgent Care and the Athens Neighborhood Health Center.  Student can also get tested at the University Health Center.
