The Chick-fil-A coming to downtown Athens won’t look like any other Chick-fil-A restaurant. It will include casement windows which will provide unobstructed views of the downtown area.

The walk-up restaurant will be located at 101 College Avenue.  According to the Athens-Clarke County Planning Department, the restaurant will have a separate entrance for mobile orders where online customers can retrieve their food.

The commission met back on March 21 to discuss and approve storefront modifications after drafts of the building went through the Athens-Clarke County Planning Department.  Construction began this summer.

The Chick-fil-A will have its grand opening on November 5th at 7 a.m. The restaurant is inviting everyone to participate in the First 100 Scavenger Hunt. Chick-fil-A will also be collecting new and gently used children’s books for their book drive. Chick-fil-A is promising a prize to the person who brings the most books.

For more information on the scavenger hunt and book drive, visit Chick-fil-A online.
