The Georgia governor’s race has been heating up counties all across the state of Georgia.

Many Georgia residents have registered to vote, and the Barrow County Board of Elections is seeing that effect in their office and at the polls.

The county is historically red with 47,000 registered voters, but 5,000 are inactive. Monica Franklin, director of elections and voter registration, said the office is seeing presidential numbers so far for voter turnout in Barrow County in the midterm race.
