In May 2020, Pete Gottschalk graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in marketing. Five months later, Gottschalk is now the man behind the camera at the 2020 World Series.

Gottschalk’s title for the MLB is a VCC, or “video content creator.” Between shooting videos and editing videos, he is a creator of digital media for the MLB.

While his current job is with the MLB, Gottschalk doesn’t limit himself to creating content for the MLB. Two years ago, he started his own creative media brand titled “PG Creative.” With this personal brand, he creates videography content of different topics ranging from travel, tutorials and vlogs about his current jobs or passions.

Before his time with the MLB, Gottschalk’s videography experience came from his part-time job in college as a video production assistant for Georgia Bulldogs Sports Marketing. According to GBSM production manager Chris Gilmore, this is the time when Gottschalk perfected his craft.

Gottschalk’s position with the MLB is exciting for the staff at GBSM. According to GBSM producer Caitlyn Hummel, while GBSM has many students go on to cover professional or college sports leagues, Gottschalk is their first employee to make a name for themselves in Major League Baseball.

The MLB’s social media pages are filled with Gottschalk’s work, ranging from a video of Cody Bellinger’s Game 7 NCLS homerun, to Manny Machado’s infamous bat-throw heard around the world.

The Los Angeles Dodgers clinched the World Series titles on Oct. 27 in Game 6 of the 2020 World Series. For the first time in his career, Gottschalk got the opportunity to shoot a World Series victory.
