Almost every college student uses social media — 98 percent of them to be exact — and a large portion of them compare themselves and their bodies to what they see online. While this influence can be negative, many well-known account users are using their platforms for the better, including one University of Georgia student.
Why It’s Newsworthy: Social media influencers are a part of the average college student’s everyday life. In the past year, many of these influencers on Instagram and Tik Tok have used their accounts to promote positive body image and body neutrality.
