New Ticket Procedures in Sanford Stadium

Athens, GA – Students are responding to the University of Georgia Athletic Department’s newly approved and implemented ticket procedures for students.

“People were yelling. Police officers were pushing and shoving people. It was real intense,” UGA student Brayden Robinson said about the pre-game traffic to enter Sanford before the Clemson game.

Instead of a free-for-all sprint to student section seats, students will now have to enter through designated gates where wristbands will be provided for specific student section seats.

The changes were brought about by student recommendations after many students were turned away from Sanford Stadium after the student sections filled up. Some students, however, do not foresee the new changes making much of a difference.

“I think it’s going to be mass chaos and people are going to be mad,” UGA Emmy Patrick said.

The procedures will be tested this week against Troy, but the true test may come in two weeks when the Bulldogs take on University of Tennessee here in Athens.
