Athens, GA – What does it take to be the one person that makes sure the voting process is fair and accurate? Reporter Michael Foo talks with Athens-Clarke County Supervisor of Elections Gail Schrader to see how ACC will make sure each vote is counted accurately in the early voting and November 4th election.

 

Athens, GA – The ACC police department will host a trunk or treat event today at  the police station from 4:30-6:30pm.The event is free and open to ages 6-12. Cars will be decorated and ensures a safe location for kids to participate in Halloween festivities. Reporter Allison Aulds will be at the festivities and sharing tips on how trick or treaters can stay safe this Halloween.

 

Athens, GA – Tuesday is the last day to vote on key referendum in Oconee County. The liquor by the drink referendum is one of two bills on the ballot for this election. The referendum would allow sale of liquor in all parts of the county including restaurants and grocery stores (where beer and wine is already allowed).

 

Athens, GA – The City of Commerce will build a new fire station in East Jackson that could help lower the costs of insurance for home owners that live there . The East District runs a high risk of fires. Reporter Taylor Saxton is in Commerce getting more information.

 

Athens, GA – Neither Jody Hice nor Ken Dious have held public offices, but they’re contending for your vote to replace US Representative Paul Broun in Washington. Hice is a former pastor and conservative talk show host. Dious is a prominent African American lawyer who has practiced law in Athens over 40 years. Reporter Andrew James discuses what issues they differ on and why no debate has been announced for the 10th district race leading up to less than a week until election day.
