Highway 316 Lane Shift

Lawrenceville, GA- Traveling from Atlanta to Athens will now be easier for commuters. The Georgia Department of Transportation Communications Officer, Teri Pope, says they redirected transportation on the east bound lanes off 316 to go under the new bridge in Lawrenceville. They will do the same on the west bound lanes going into Atlanta tonight. Pope says this should ease traffic in the mornings and afternoons. The overall goal is to remove the traffic lights on Collins Hill and have it become an interchange.
