ATHENS, GA–

The biggest indoor concert in Athens’ history is on it’s way to the Classic Center.  Life in Color will be in town on Friday.

What makes this concert so big? Life in Color was formerly called Dayglow. Even though the concert series has been around the country, and world, for years,  this is only it’s second year in Athens.

Life in Color is the world’s largest pain party.  These parties have been around the world, from Cancun, Mexico to Miami.  The attraction? Big name headliners and paint. Cannons of paint.

Who do UGA students have to thank for bringing the party to Athens? Even Rosenberg, the owner of After Midnight Parties.

“A bunch of people that work at the parent company called Committee. And a bunch of people that work there are my friends from back in Florida…I was doing some other shows with them and proposed the idea of bringing Life in Color to Athens. So we did it.”

The headliner for this year’s show is one of the biggest names in EDM, Rusko. In a smaller market like Athens, big artists like him are hard to book.

“We normally don’t have any venues big enough to host the biggest people unless it’s an off-night at the Georgia Theatre,” says Rosenberg.

It’s going to be one busy weekend here in Athens. While the Classic Center will be filling up for Life in Color, the streets of downtown will be filling up for Twilight. Rosenberg says they have sold over 45 hundred tickets and about a thousand of those will be from out of town. He thinks that both events will work together to bring people to Athens.

It will be Callen Carroll’s second time going to Life in Color. The UGA junior couldn’t be more pumped. “It’s no longer like a formal concert where you don’t know the person beside you. Everyone’s dancing together in the paint.”

She also says you know you are signing up to get covered in paint. “Oh no, I love it! The more paint the better,” says Carroll.

The paint used is water soluble and comes off with soap and water. If you want to avoid the paint, then stay clear of the middle section of the theatre.
