School Board Meeting Tonight Will Decide Fate For Clarke County Superintendent

The Clarke County School Board will meet tonight, Dec. 3, at 5:30 p.m. to discuss if the current school superintendent, Demond Means, will continue in his job.

Means announced his discontent with the school board and his intent to resign at a Nov. 21 school board meeting.

Clarke County School Board member John Knox was surprised by Means’ statement.

Clarke County School Board member Greg Davis said he was not surprised by the statement.

What exactly will result from the Board of Education meeting tonight is still unclear according to Knox. He said, “Anything can happen. When you put the school board together discussing the superintendent and the situation regarding the superintendent it could go in lots of different directions.”

Tyler Metcalfe is journalism and political science major at the University of Georgia.
