St. Simon’s Police To Crack Down On Underage Drinking

It’s Georgia-Florida week. Normally we here at Grady Newsource are calling athletics trying to get Mark Richt or Aaron Murray to do an interview.

This week we contacted Glynn County (where St. Simon’s is located). They said that you can expect to see a bigger police presence on “frat beach.”

If you’re under 21, you may be out of luck. The cops will be on the lookout for underage drinkers, performing random I.D. checks.

They said it’s all going to be done with safety as the first priority.

You need to keep your I.D. on you at all times.

“If there’s anything that raises [the police’s] alarm, or if there’s anything they feel is inappropriate in a situation, they will do age compliance checks,” said Candice Temple, Public Information Officer for Glynn County.

If you get caught without an I.D. you can get cited for it, even if you’re 21.

Temple also said that you might have to make a trip back down to St. Simon’s to prove that you’re of age.

With the price of gas these days, that’s a fine all by itself
