UGA Athletic Association’s L.E.A.D. Inducts New Members

Athens, GA – A UGA’s Student-Athlete leadership group program has some new members today. Sixteen student athletes were inducted into program the last night. Members are chosen based on academic and athletic success, leadership, community and campus involvement and recommendations from their coaches. These athletes come from every sport – football, baseball, tennis, swimming. They’re in good company – Olympic gold medalist Allison Schmidt and NFL quarterback Aaron Murray are both inductees.

The 2014 L.E.A.D. inductees are:

  • Olivia Boggs, swimming and diving
  • Sylvie Brick, golf
  • Marjorie Butler, basketball
  • Reggie Carter, football
  • Chelsea Davis, gymnastics
  • Alina Jerjomina, tennis
  • Morgan Justiss, equestrian
  • Houston Kessler, basketball
  • Jordan Mattern, swimming and diving
  • Sean McLaughlin, baseball
  • Gaby Smiley, volleyball
  • Kisean Smith, track and field
  • Ty Stewart, swimming and diving
  • Lauren Teknipp, volleyball
  • Chantal VanLandeghem, swimming and diving
