UGA Football: Two Defensive Backs Transferring

ATHENS, GA- Georgia is officially short two defensive backs for next year’s season. Sophomores Brendan Langley and J.J. Green are seeking transfer papers this week. While the two players will not be in red and black next season theres no need for Georgia fans to fear. The University of Georgia has 6 official commits waiting to step foot in Sanford Stadium next fall.

Freshman year Langley started 9 games with a total of 12 tackles. Langley saw much less play time this season only starting three games and getting four total tackles. The story proves to be the same for Green who started all 13 games last year but only played in 8 games this year.

Georgia hasn’t had a good history with defensive backs. The team has lost seven players in the last 10 months. Two players, Shaq Jones and Tray Matthews, were dismissed for violating team rules. Freshman back, Rico Johnson was medically disqualified due to a spinal cord condition. Junior Shattle Fenteng is also out for the year after undergoing shoulder surgery in September. Lastly, Sheldon Dawson was released from the team in September for unknown reasons.
