Spring Break at UGA

Athens, GA – There’s a single question that keeps popping up all over UGA’s campus. “What are you doing for Spring Break?” Meredith Dean has details on what UGA students will be doing over the vacation. Alcohol, partying, dancing, and beer-trashed beaches are some of the images that come to mind when one thinks of College Spring Break. But students at UGA are taking part in all sorts of activities across the country.

The following UGA students all have exciting plans for their individual spring break vacations. Savannah Grow says that “it’s going to be a different kind of spring break. It will be 18 degrees, but we’re going to Breckenridge so it’s going to be cool.” UGA Student, Jason Moffitt II says, “So we’re going to PCB is going to be wild, crazy, fun and we’re going to make some great memories! Gonna have some stories to tell…” Kurt Doehrman is taking a rather different approach and going the educational route he says. “I’m just going to be a tourist for a week. I’m a history major, so going to see the capital.” Lastly, Conner Reed says he’s “going to Gulf Shores, doing what everyone’s doing by having a little bit of fun and relaxing.”

Service projects are quite a popular way to spend this Spring Break to some UGA students. UGA student, Evan Creasman says, “Can’t wait to go to Tuscaloosa for tornado relief.” UGA student, Allie Faggetter said, “I’m going to Jamaica on a Wesley Foundation trip!” And some students are taking precautions for a safer Spring Break, by hydrating responsibly.

So whether you’re going on a spring break service trip, or visiting the beach with friends, just remember to stay safe and have fun.
