Tensions increase as House Bill 757, known as the Religious Liberty bill, remains unsigned. Reporter Michelle Baruchman is covering the implications this bill has on the state of Georgia. 

 

Storm Water could increase utility costs

Athens-Clarke County is reviewing residential property for impervious surfaces. This means that stormwater cannot filter into the soul. The review will influence how much individuals pay for their stormwater utility. Reporter Jared Sweat will be updating throughout the day.

 

Zika Virus 

Fears of the Zika Virus are growing as the 2016 Rio Olympics are approaching. Reporter Matt Mataxas is following up with reporters who are covering the Olympics to see if they share these fears of contracting the disease. 

 

Slingshot Athens

The streets of downtown will be taken over by the spring festival of music, art and technology this weekend. Slingshot is the Athens equivalent of South by Southwest film festival. The festival is partnership with UGA’s Center of Humanities for Humanities and Terry’s Music Business Program. Reporter Corey Knapp will be previewing the event.

Campus Carry remains on Governor Deal’s desk. Reporter Jazmin Calhoun will be following Governor Deal’s action on the bill.
