  • The Athens Clarke County Police department may receive a $150,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice to improve the relationship between mental health and the criminal justice system. The Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program (JMCHP) Planning Initiative grant would go toward improving mental health services in the community and diverting individuals with these issues from jail to a more appropriate treatment provider. Reporter Rayleigh Rozier will have more on this grant at 5 p.m..
