Journalism students from the University of Georgia served as hosts to a group of international journalists Monday morning as part of a prestigious government media program.
The Edward R. Murrow Program for Journalists is a collaboration between the U.S Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and select U.S journalism programs across the country. The program aligns with “U.S. efforts to maintain and encourage such freedom of expression.”
Student hosts were paired with 13 journalists from English-speaking African countries to discuss cultural differences in journalism education, the media industry and experiences in the field. This is the seventh consecutive year that Grady has been selected to host the Murrow Fellows.

- S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications & Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, Syracruse University
- School of Journalism, University of Minnesota
- School of Journalism and Mass Communication, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill
- Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication, University of Oklahoma
