ACCPD Hiring: Some Applicants Apply with Black Lives Matter Movement In Mind

The Athens-Clarke County Police Department is ready to hire seven to ten law enforcement officers and three communications specialists. The Department is holding a career fair this Thursday the 29th at the Classic Center in downtown Athens.

The ACCPD is offering a one time three thousand dollar hiring bonus to attract. The Department also created a promotional recruitment video which can be seen here. To be hired by the ACCPD a candidate will apply online and undergo extensive background checks and multiple interviews.

Interestingly enough, some candidates, when asked about the controversy surrounding law enforcement in the media, said it doesn’t scare them and in fact made them want to apply to be an officer even more.
