The Athens Kroger off of Alps road has a new employee. But instead of a nametage, the only uniform he has on is a straw hat and a set of razor sharp teeth.

If you havent already seen him in the store, you might have seen this ferocious grin on twitter or facebook. Many local shoppers want to know, who is this scary bulldog who looks so different from UGA’s lovable mascot? Don’t worry, this isnt the new icon for UGA, but just like UGGA on the field, he helps Athens when it comes to a win. But there arent any footballs in this competition: only pineapples.

The trophy for winning this game? A crystal pineapple, which the Alps road Kroger has claimed for the last three years. Many people don’t know why this bulldog guards the doors to their local Kroger, and social media posts over the past few weeks have shown that some confused UGA students are not too fond of the grizzly pup.

But when they learned that this strange bulldog was here to support Athens beat competitors including Krogers near the Auburn tiger’s and the University of Tennesee, just like football season, they geared up for the dogs.
