Athens’ School System Promotes Healthcare Initiative

 

Athens Clarke County School Districts is having a lot of success with a new initiative to keep their students healthy and ready to learn. The initiative is part of a federal grant to increase the enrollment of eligible students in Medicaid or Peachcare programs

According to the director of School Social Work for Clarke County, the district has already been successful in insuring 203 students since the initiative began at the beginning of this school year. This initiative has been so successful in our community, in fact, that the CDF is using the specific program tailored by Clarke County as a model for other school districts all over the nation.
