Grady Newsource learned moments ago that an Athens man charged with rape and other charges has been assigned a Superior Court judge so that a court date for his bond hearing can be set. David Ellis Ippisch, 38, was arrested yesterday at approximately 8:15 p.m., and charged with two misdemeanor counts of battery, sexual battery, and felony kidnapping and rape. Ippisch was assigned to Judge Eric Norris, and his court date is still pending.
According to an Athens-Clarke County press release, Ippisch’s arrest stems from an investigation of a reported sexual assault on Nov. 24 at Hedges on Broad, one of the bars Ippisch is listed as the business agent. The report says the incident involved a 21-year-old female.
A bond has already been set for the two battery charges.
According to the Athens-Clarke County Business and Tax Division, Ippisch is listed as the business agent for Hedges on Broad and 100 Proof. Both businesses are bars that are popular attractions for the University of Georgia students.

This is total bullshit. No eye-witnesses, DNA evidence, he said/she said.
The area cops must have it out for this man.
