Breaking News: Three Athens Residents Arrested in Medicaid Protest

Along with the the protests against Gissendaner’s execution, there was another protest in Atlanta in favor of expanding medicaid. Three Athens residents along with nine others were taken into custody after participating in a sit-in on the Capitol’s south step.

The three protestors are members of the organization Athens for Everyone. Former mayoral candidate Tim Denson, UGA student Adam Veale, and board member of Athens for Everyone Adam Lasilla are currently being held in custody.
