Burney-Harris-Lyons Middle School Initiative for Laptops

Athens, GA

Not every student at Burney-Harris-Lyons has access to a personal computer. And that’s exactly what the Clarke county school district is trying to fix with their one-to-one initiative. Reporter Katie Kraft visited BHL Middle School to see what they are doing to make sure every student has a device to use.
She interviewed the Media Specialist, Anne McLeod, who talked about how the compeers are assigned to each student. This is the first year the students could do their work at school on the device and take it home to do homework.
She also talked to student Yoanna Shurdha about how having the devices make doing work a lot easier.
