Decision Postponed on Permit for Crematorium for Madison Funeral Home

The decision on opening the crematorium has been postponed again. Judge Boswell gave everyone until Febrary the 16th to send in all documents pertaining to the case and from there he would make a decision. Ivie funeral home in Madison has a crematorium but no final inspection has been approved. Some neighbors, reporter Rebecca Scott talked to, said they are opposed.

The funeral home owner Sammy Highsmith filed against Chairman Anthony Dove and the then building inspector Eddie Pritchett at the end of last year.

The commission told Eddie Pritchett to not sign the final certificate of occupancy or CO for the crematorium.
