Eating while Driving UPDATE

Athens, GA – Texting isn’t the only offense you can get in trouble for while driving. Reporter Jacob Moore talked to UGA Police Chief Jimmy Williamson earlier this morning. Chief Williamson says that eating while driving poses a risk to other drivers because of swerving. He says that police officers will use their own discretion when it comes to who they are going to pull over for eating at the wheel.

Local driver Jake Ellis said he thinks that anyone driving while distracted should be pulled over if they are a threat to others. He says that he would be irritated if he got pulled over while driving though. Ellis feels that driving while using a phone is a bigger danger than people driving while eating.
