The Akademia Brewing Company had its grand opening November 13 at 150 Crane Drive on Atlanta Highway from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The company is run by Matt Casey and brewmaster Morgan Wireman who have both been home brewers for nearly a decade.
Casey and Wireman want to bring what Casey describes as, “A true brew pub.”
“We felt like there was a little bit of a void in Athens and also in the state of true brew pubs doing classical styles of beer. Beer married and paired with food and putting some of the beer in the food and food in the beer,” said Casey.
The brewery offers a wide variety of beers and food as well as a family friendly environment.
If you want to go to Akademia Brewing Company, their hours are Sunday through Thursday 11a.m. until 11 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday their hours are 11 a.m. until close.
