Man Involved in Deputy Shooting Out of The Hospital, Now Behind Bars

A man injured in a deputy involved shooting is out of the hospital and now in jail.

38 year old John Martin was released from Athens Regional hospital at 1 PM this afternoon. At 1:30 PM, he was already locked up in the Oconee County Jail.

Corporal Adam Thrower and two other deputies responded to a domestic violence call at Martin’s home last Wednesday night. The suspect drew his weapon when the officers arrived. Thrower fired at Martin, which wounded him.

Neither bond nor court date has been set for Martin. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is still looking into the case.
