Storms Bring Heavy Rain And Wind

Severe storms usher in cooler temperatures

Jefferson, Ga (Grady NewSource) – A line of severe thunderstorms brought heavy rain and wind to the area Wednesday ahead of what will be a cooler temepratures for the remainder of the week.

The worst of the storms hit northwest Georgia, including a tornado that killed one struck Bartow County. Several others were injured and trees fell during four other tornadoes in the northwest region.

No damage or injuries were reported in and around the northeast Georgia communities of Athens, Commerce and Gainesville.

After reaching into the 70s Wednesday, temperatures will not climb out of the 50s for the remainder of the week.
