UGA Debate Team Stands Out

ATHENS–For the twenty-seventh year in a row, the UGA debate team has qualified for the annual National Debate Tournament. The tournament hosts the top sixty eight collegiate debate teams from around the country.

This year, the Georgia Debate Union is the only one to have three freshmen to qualify. One of those freshmen, Advait Ramanan, says he is looking forward to the tough competition.

“This is the hardest tournament of the year, so I’m going to be debating against the best of the best. Which I didn’t really have the opportunity to do during the regular season.”

The team has been ranked in the top twenty in numerous tournaments this year.

The tournament will be from March 31st until April 4th at Binghamton University in New York.
