UGA Student Charged with Murder

A University of Georgia Student has been charged with murder after running his car through a Taco Bell in Swainsboro, Georgia, killing one person inside and injuring four more. Freshman Biology major Oliver Cope is charged with felony murder, four counts of aggregated assault and damage to property in the first degree.

Swainsboro Police said Macy Lynn Mullis was killed because of the incident. A one year old child was reported to have been pinned under the car, but the police department and bystanders lifted the car off the child.

The University of Georgia would not comment on whether or not Cope is still enrolled as a student. Cases of felony charges are handled on a case by case basis.
