Athens, GA- Election day is just five days away! We’re looking into how early voting is doing in its last couple of days and will have more details tonight.
Athens, GA- The Athens Downtown Development Authority is trying to pass an ordinance regarding parking downtown. They’re trying to prohibit vehicles over 17 feet long from parking on Broad Street. If a vehicle passes a marked line on the street, they will get a parking ticket.
Watkinsville, GA- The Oconee County Board of Education recently presented the “Pursuit of Excellence” award to Robert Harris. Harris is a bus driver for Colham Ferry Elementary in Watkinsville. This is the first time the award has ever been given to anyone.
Lexington, GA- A new “Watch Dog” program is starting at Oglethorpe County Elementary School. The program is a school-based father involvement program that works to support education and safety. Watch Dogs can be fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father figures.
Athens, GA- 300 miles in 30 hours! The UGA Baptist Collegiate Ministries’ “Ride For Christ” is a bicycle ride going to the GA-FL game in Jacksonville. The ministry hosts this event every year to raise money for summer missions. Participants left this morning and are expected to arrive in Jacksonville tomorrow afternoon.
