Northeast Georgia – The Oconee County Sheriff Department advises pet owners to protect their pets from freezing temperatures. Years ago, a dog was left outside and froze to death in Oconee County. Oconee County Georgia Sheriff’s Office posted a Facebook message to ensure people would know how serious this issue could be.
Local pet owner Shakeithia Fain agrees that people should protect their pets from the elements.
“I’m glad they do that because a lot of people don’t know that even though their dog has fur, the dog can still get cold. So I definitely put on my baby’s sweater so she doesn’t get cold,” Fain says.
