Old Fraternity Tradition Put To An End At UGA

Sororities at the University of Georgia wanting to wear old-fashioned skirts during an annual event no longer have that hope….UGA made a decision to ban all sororities from wearing hoop dresses on fraternity events.  Hoop dresses were worn in the Antebellum South prior to the Civil War, and this tradition has been going on since then.  A video was released last week of a University of Oklahoma  fraternity using racial slurs…..and some people speculate that UGA made the ban in response to the video.  Reporter C.J. Gaan will have the story tonight on Grady Newsource.

This is absolutely ridiculous! We are forced to accept “pants on the ground” yet we must ban those awful antebellum dresses and confederate uniforms……People need to start saying enough already! Southern heritage should be celebrated! It aint all about race people!
