UGA Students Respond to Controversial Yik Yak Comment Following UGA Student Death

University of Georgia students are responding to a social media post (below) that has stirred up controversy and anger for some groups. A comment was made on the anonymous social media platform Yik Yak, after the passing of UGA Senior Mikal Ghirmazghi this Thursday. It says addressing marginalized groups, “You don’t belong at UGA, even God agrees.”  The post has been spreading on social media ever since. Junior Anita Guevara says it’s not about a social media post but the “culture” at UGA.
