Bishop Park Master Plan

Bishop Park Master Plan

ATHENS, GA –  If you want a say in your local parks, you’ll have an opportunity tonight. There will be a meeting about the plan for Bishop Park. This is the first time a park is actually being planned by people in the community, instead of an outside firm.

Bishop Park Plan 2

Bishop Park was built about 40 years ago. Now people care more about their health. The park needs more biking and walking paths. It needs more outdoor exercise areas. If you were hoping for a dog park or aquatic center you’re going to be disappointed. The planners say there is simply not enough room. They’ve gotten good responses even without those features. One planner says that’s because they really know their community.

There will be a Bishop Park Master Plan Public Input Session March 25th from 6 – 7:30 P.M. in the Bishop Park Conference Room. You can also submit your feedback in an online survey.
