Governor Deal Declares State of Emergency for South Georgia

640x360_60328B00-WSQJYGovernor Nathan Deal issued a state of emergency for several counties in south Georgia in response to the incoming tropical storm Hermine. Georgia’s Emergency Operation Command recommended the state of emergency. It will be in effect starting at noon on September 1 and ending at midnight on September 3.

Governor Deal said in the press release, “We are working to ensure counties in south, central and coastal Georgia have access to the state resources necessary to prepare and respond when Tropical Storm Hermine enters Georgia. Our Emergency Operations Command will continue closely monitoring this storm and additional counties may be included in this declaration as needed.”
