The UGA volleyball team is on road this week as they head on over to Auburn Wednesday for yet another Tiger brawl after getting mawled by the LSU tigers yesterday afternoon.
From the very start, it just wasn’t looking good for the Bulldogs, after losing the first set by 12 points. In the second set, the Bulldogs seemed to be more aggressive, keeping up with the Tigers throughout the enitre set, but the Tigers continued their aggressive approach kill after kill, which finally resulted in a score of 25 to 21.
University of Georgia’s Volleyball Head Coach Lizzy Stemke said, ” I definitely think LSU came in with a very aggressive and consistent mindset. I think they attacked us with a lot of pressure and we were not able to respond the way we needed to.”
It was in the third set that the Bulldogs seemed to play the best. UGA came into the set strong at first keeping the lead for some time. LSU eventually came back winning the third and final set of the match 25 to 21.
“We just came out flat with each other, and we were just not communicating, and communication is a big thing for us in our gym,” said Georgia outside hitter Maddie Lobenstein. Lobenstein led the team with 13 kills against LSU.
After the match on Wednesday, the Bulldogs have a nine-day break before facing the Texas A&M Aggies on October 21st at the Ramsey Center.
