Columbus Day Festival Keeps Spirit Alive

Athens, GA–It’s Columbus day, and what better way to celebrate than with an Italian-themed Columbus Day Festival. After all, Christopher Columbus was an Italian.

The festivities are happening today at Memorial Park from 9a.m. until 3:30p.m. Children are participating in the event by making hats to wear as Columbus wore throughout his travels to America. They are also participating in a boat race among other events to celebrate throughout the day.
