Free, Discounted #ElectionDay Transportation to Be Offered in Athens

For Athens residents who won’t be driving to the polls tomorrow, you have other options to get there.

Riding Athens Transit, or taking Uber or Lyft are ways to get to the polls to cast your vote.

A list of 21 polling places and the bus routes to get there can be found here. Bus fare is $1.75.

Apps like Uber and Lyft are offering discounted rides to the polls.

Lyft riders can enter their zip codes online and can receive a promo code to use in the app for 50% off their ride.

Lyft says that in the 2016 election, over 15 million people were registered to vote but didn’t because they couldn’t get to the polls.

Uber has partnered with #VoteTogether and Democracy Works to get more voters to the polls.

Uber riders will be able to enter the code VOTE2018 to request a ride using their polling place locator in the app. Riders will then be able to get $10 off their most affordable option in their city from Express POOL, POOL, and UberX.
