Flu Season Starts in Two Weeks: Where to Get Vaccinated

Flu season starts in two weeks and it’s time to get your vaccination.

It takes two weeks for the flu vaccine to build up antibodies and protect the body against the influenza virus according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. If you were vaccinated today, those antibodies won’t start working in your system until October 2.

Grocery stores and pharmacies around the Northeast Georgia administer flu shots, as well as the University of Georgia Health Center.

The CDC has a “Flu Vaccine Finder” on their website to help people find flu clinics nearby using your zip-code.
