Lady Dawg Named Player Of The Week

Athens, GA- A broken nose doesn’t keep one Lady Dawg off the basketball court. That kind of determination is what makes her the SEC Player of the Week. Senior Jasmine Hassell scored 21 points against Alabama last week and 19 points against South Carolina Sunday. Hassell scored a key free-throw against South Carolina with less than a minute left for the 42-40 win. Hassell broke her nose during the Alabama game but won’t let it affect her performance.

Hassell says, “Last SEC game, Alabama, a girl came down and hit my nose. It’s a broken nose; I’m not gonna let it stop me. I’ll just play with a mask. It’s a small broken nose- not a big thing. Just trying to make sure I look pretty after basketball season.”

The Number 13 ranked Lady Dawgs hope for a big win against Arkansas Thursday night in Fayetteville.
