Recycling. You know its good for the enviroment, but did you know it could be good for your wallet?
Athens business owners must comply with the new commerical recycling plan ordinance starting in 2014.
“It does not apply to businesses run from home but other than that if you have a business license in Athens-Clarke County it does apply”
This ordinance requires all businesses to provide specific recycling options and information to customers.
“For the downtown businesses they pay for the garbage bags, the garbage bags are a dollar fifty each and the recycling bags are free; so its kind of obvious your going to want to use the recycling bags, put as much as you can into recycling.”
For businesses like apartment complexes, the more recycling bins they have, they less trash bins they will need, and that can save you more than you think.
“I’ve never heard of a situation where the recycling cost more than the trash, the recycling is always cheaper.”
