More People in Athens Could Lose Power Before the End of the Week

Athens residents are still without power after nearly two days of extreme weather. There are over 10,000 homes without power in Georgia. Only 60 of those cases are in Athens-Clarke County. However, an official from Georgia Power expects more homes to lose power tonight.

Fallen branches, power outages, fallen down power lines, and out of service traffic lights. Athens took the beating of severe weather yesterday and the today was all about resortation.

Residents were impacted as well. Around the Pineview area, power outages left some locals without power for over 24 hours. The cold was one probelm, spoiling food was another.

There is expected to be more bad weather tonight. There will be a high wind advisory among other dangers. High winds are bad news for power lines. More homes in Athens could lose power tonight, which means crews could be back out again tomorrow.
