Athens is getting what is known as a CHaRM facility. This is a Center for Hard to Recycle Materials.

Kevin Kirsche the Director of the Office of Sustainability at UGA says they work very closely with the solid waste department and currently are throwing these hard to recycle items in the landfill. They are in the process of coming up with a campaign to let people know about the CHaRM.
